Phyllis asked her mother for a gold tooth when she was 3 years old (her request was denied). Thus began her life long love of metallics.  As she got older she discovered rock n roll, especially music from the late 60s and 70s.  Photos of the Beatles visiting the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India inspired her love of hippie fashion.  Other influences include Jimi Hendrix ("the best dressed straight guy ever!"), Dutch design collective "The Fool", "Performance" with Mick Jagger and Anita Pallenberg ("and of course Anita in anything"), Martin Sharp, Cream, Biba, Barbra Streisand in "A Star is Born", Talitha Getty, Rabari tribal women in India, hippie style in Ibiza, and the art of Gustav Klimt.

"My bags are like wearing a piece of jewelry, they are the perfect accent to a simple outfit. When my customers are unsure which bag to choose, I tell them to forget about what will go with their wardrobe and just choose a bag they love.  It's always the right choice.  If you're feeling uninspired and don't have time to put a fabulous ensemble together, you can wear a simple t shirt and jeans, or a plain black dress, and voila! It's like putting on a fab necklace or scarf without having to think too much.  One great thing about my bags are seasonless, you can wear them on a snowy day in January or a 90 degree scorcher.  I hate following trends, and my bags are timeless, you can wear my designs for years, they don't go out of style.  Best of all they go from day to night, from the most casual jaunt to a black tie event."

Phyllis's designs are inspired by the effortless bohemian chic of 70's rock star girlfriends she romanticized while growing up.  Her bags are named after some of these sexy rock gods who had great style............                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               "There I was, in what was about to become my favorite position in the world, hanging onto the hand of an (English) rock star."                                                                          - Pamela Des Barres                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Robert "Percy" Plant                                                                                                   (click here to learn how Robert got his nickname............)
